Kimpton Hotel Chain Investigating Possible Payment Card Breach

Around 24 properties of Kimpton Hotels across US likely affected.

Kimpton authorities alerted customers, noting: “If there are unauthorized charges, individuals should immediately notify their bank.”

In most credit card breaches in the past two years, thieves have stolen card data from cash registers by remotely planting malicious software at point-of-sale (PoS) devices, KrebsOnSecurity said. The data is then sold to crooks who are said to use it to create duplicate cards.
