Apple reportedly inks deal with American Express for its iPhone payments system
Apple has reportedly agreed to work with American Express on its new iPhone 6 payment system – which is now just nine days away from being unveiled by Cupertino.
The latest rumour once again springs from the Re/Code blog, which cites those ever reliable (or not so much) sources familiar with the situation.
But there will be room for other providers to muscle their way into a separate deal with Apple ahead of it unleashing the company’s payments plans.
iPhone 6 info is continuing to leak out. Back in July, The Information reported that Visa was working on a payments system with Apple.
Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly not planning to unleash a wearable device at its iPhone 6 event on 9 September. When the iWatch does eventually arrive, rumours suggest it could carry a $400 price tag. ®
